Sir Elton John And David Furnish All Set To Say 'I Do' This Weekend In England After The Longtime Partners Underwent A Civil Partnership In 2005!

Sir Elton John is all set to marry his longtime partner David Furnish.

It's official! Sir Elton John and his partner Furnish are ready to say "I do" this weekend, Sir Elton John's rep confirmed to Us Weekly. English singer, songwriter, composer, pianist, record producer and occasional actor, Sir Elton John and Canadian/British filmmaker, David Furnish have been longtime partners and they even underwent a civil partnership in 2005 and have been together for 21 years now. Now that same-sex marriage has been legalized in England, they are planning to now get married.

The legendary 67-year-old musician and the former advertising executive have been in a relationship since 1993 and are parents to two children together, Zachary, 3, and Elijah, 23 months.

In an interview with Matt Lauer in March 2014, John said. "We'll do it very quietly. But we will do it and it will be a joyous occasion and we will have our children [there]," he added, "For this legislation to come through is joyous and we should celebrate it. We shouldn't just say, 'Oh, well, we have a civil partnership, we're not going to bother to get married'. We will get married."

Earlier this year, Elton noted it is important for him and David to exchange vows in honor of his country's new legislation. The Grammy-winner earlier expressed regret for having waited too long to have kids.

"It was the best decision we ever did,' he told host Dermot O'Leary while celebrating his BRIT's icon Award.

"I wish we had done it 20 years earlier because I am no spring chicken. I understand people criticizing for us having children at a late age but to hell with it. We can give these children so much love."

Although it's not yet clear where exactly will the longtime couple will exchange vows, Furnish earlier mentioned they were considering being relatively low-key. "I think what we'll do is go to a register office in England...and take the boys with us, and a couple of witnesses."

Furnish, 52, and John met in 1993 and fell "in love very quickly," they revealed to Parade magazine.
