2ne1 gets interviewed by BBC, CL’s perfect English is grabbing attention

On December 16, on England’s BBC WORLD news program ‘Newsday’, 2NE1 was interviewed.

CL talked about recently being awarded with MTV IGGY’s ‘Best Next New Band’ award, “MTV is a place where the most famous worldwide musicians come and perform, but I am so honored that we were able to perform on the show”.

Then CL continued to talk about the k-pop sensation going around the world, “Music needs no other language and I think that is why it works. Music opens a whole different culture. I am so honored that we can be one of the people that represent K-pop”.

She continued, “I am thankful I can represent as an Asian woman”. Then when CL was asked how they achieved what they did for the past two years after debuting, she said, “it is through music. The biggest reason we were able to reap up good results is because of the music” and had a sense of pride as she spoke.

The interview was for about 3 minutes, and CL was able to calmly answer all the questions.

MTV IGGY had a ‘2011 Best New Band in the World’ voting from the beginning of October to mid-November for 6 weeks and 2NE1 won. In December, 2NE1 did a performance in New York Times Square.
