Saturday brings another episode of "Sword Art Online II" or "Sword Art Online" season two. Episode 24 entitled "Mother's Rosario" was simulcast to fans outside of Japan thanks to Aniplex USA on Hulu and Crunchyroll. Synopsis:

This week's episode begins with a party: the Sleeping Knights Guild and Kirito and Asuna's crew barbecue and mingle amongst each other. The two groups then head out and take down a boss together. A montage begins showing various memories the two groups make in both the real world and Alfheim online.

Until suddenly, Asuna receives an email that Yuuki's condition has changed. Yuuki's heart stops and the doctors are able to revive her, but it's a sign that she won't last much longer. Asuna convinces the doctors to allow her one last trip to Alfheim online. Yuuki passes her sword skill on to Asuna. The sword skill is called "Mother's Rosario." Soon, everyone from Sleeping Knights and elsewhere come to visit Yuuki as she lies in Yuuki's arms.

The tribute to Yuuki makes her last moments bittersweet. Asuna attends her funeral and meets Siune in the real world for the first time. Siune tells Asuna that she was cleared to go outside in April after her Leukemia was reduced to full remission. Siune thanks Asuna for bringing happiness to her last days. Asuna vows to meet Yuuki in the afterlife and thank her for making it feel okay to express her feelings.

Kirito arrives with Yuuki's doctor, and through conversation the group discovers shockingly that Akihiko Kayaba, the designer of SAO, also designed the medicuboid that kept Yuuki and others like her alive.

The episode ends with Kirito and Asuna vowing to stay together forever no matter what.
