Floyd Mayweather News: Money Says He's Rich But May Be Worth A Whole Lot More If He Were White

Floyd Mayweather news revealed that he is worth at least $200 million, but the champ claimed that he could have been richer if he were white.

Mayweather was deemed the highest-paid athlete twice in the past three years, being the second star to rake in at least $100 million in a span of 12 months, after Tiger Woods.

Inquisitr reported the Floyd Mayweather news. He said, "What's so crazy, is that the last time I checked, I hold the record for pay-per-view. I hold the record for highest grossing gate. I hold the record for making the most money in one night, and the list goes on."

He continued talking about why boxing promoters pick other boxers to represent them at pay-per-view events instead of him. He said, "When you think about what's going on in the world today as far as racism, it's a lot of racism that goes on in the sport of boxing. Because if I was a white, American fighter with the same aura, the same style, the same pizzaz, I'd be a multibillionaire. Multibillionaire."

"Money" continued, "So when you look at what goes on in Ferguson, what goes on in New York City, in America, in today's time. I try not to get into people's business, because I don't want anyone in my business."

However, Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza shared about the Floyd Mayweather news in Fight Saga that race is not one of the vital factors that determine popularity and income-generating power.

Espinoza said, "There's a combination of factors. Performance in the ring is an enormous factor. Probably the most dominant factor in deciding that. Marketing support is important. But that really to a large extent is overblown."

He explained, "What fighters need most of all are two things. They need good rivals for entertaining, career defining fights, and they need authentic personalities. That's really the combination."

Espinoza added, "All the marketing in the world won't help you if your fighter doesn't have any opponents lined up and doesn't have a saleable personality. That's where everything comes from... not the other way around."

Floyd Mayweather news revealed how the figures are comparable to NBA superstar LeBron James, who earned $72.3 million in 2013, with $53 million of the sum coming from endorsements from different Fortune 500 businesses.
