Kim Hyun Joong Announces First Concert Since Alleged Abuse Scandal

Kim Hyun Joong has announced that he will be holding a tour in Japan in 2015, his first new promotions since being accused of assault by his ex-girlfriend.

Kim announced the launch of his 2015 Japanese concert tour following several months out of the spotlight. Kim Hyun Joong also has plans to release a Japanese mini-album on February 11. He has not released any plans to promote in Korea, where his image suffered following legal allegations late in 2014.

In August 2014, Kim Hyun Joong's ex-girlfriend filed multiple charges against the star, alleging that he had assaulted her on multiple occasions. The singer was cleared of all charges but one, following a public apology to the woman. During the court case, he continued many of his scheduled activities but didn't persue any new promotions.

Korean media had published images that the woman submitted to the courts that showed injuries that appeared to be from repeated abuse, as well as messenger conversations that showed Kim Hyun Joong apologizing to his then-girlfriend for hurting her.

The singer has not promoted publicly in South Korea since the news of the alleged assault broke.  Kim Hyun Joong also delayed his mandatory two-year military service due to his hectic concert tours. The twenty-eight year old singer-actor needs to enlist before he turns thirty.

Kim Hyun Joong is the leader and member of now-on-hiatus idol group SS501. He gained popularity from his role in 2009's Boys Over Flowers, and has embarked on a successful solo singing and acting career.  His latest acting role was the drama Inspiring Generation, and he released the mini-album "Timing" in July 2014.

The Kim Hyun Joong Japan Tour 2015 Gemini will consist of twelve concerts in ten different Japanese venues, held between January 27 and February 14.
