Monday marks an all new episode of "Yowamushi Pedal" season 2, "Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road." Episode 12 entitled, "Izumida's Pride," was simulcast on anime site Crunchyroll for subscribers. Synopsis:

This week's episode opens with Onoda lamenting the fall of Arakita from the lead pack. Imaizumi reminds Onoda that their puller will also fall behind soon. Onoda declares he'll do anything for the team, and everybody from Sohoku Academy rallies to chase down Hakone. Imaizumi and Naruko fight over who will pull the team and eventually settle on pulling the team together.

They work together to protect Tadokoro's bigger body from the wind. Imaizumi and Naruko tease each other in order to push each other to go faster. Onoda then thanks the third years for taking the first years this far and promises to win the race for them. Onoda races through some rough terrain and begins pulling ahead of Naruko and Imaizumi.

Sohoku catches up to Hakone academy. Fukutomi watches them from the corner of his eye and figures that when they get to the next hill Sohoku academy will fall behind. Meanwhile Kinjou has faith that as long as they have all six people together. They catch up to Hakone Academy, but then suddenly Fukutomi orders Izumida to speed up. He manages to pull the team forward even further, away from Sohoku.

Izumida cries as he exhausts his body to its limits and then falls behind. Shinkai slaps him on the back and tells him not to worry as he pulls ahead. Izumida admires Shinkai through flashback of their interactions. He remembers that his greatest desire was to ride with Shinkai. The third years of Sohoku tell Onoda and the first years to fall back in response to Fukutomi's goal to create considerable gap before the mountains.

Naruko is prepared to allow the third years to go forward until Makishima declares they have one final job to do before seeing them off at the mountain.
