Girl group 2NE1’s second album, Crush, is the first K-Pop album to have ranked on Billboard’s year-end world albums chart .

On Monday, Billboard revealed, “2NE1’s ‘Crush’ is the first K-Pop album to appear on our year-end world albums chart.”

Billboard also stated that the group had broken multiple chart records this year and was able to end 2014 off with one more victory.

This is the first time a K-Pop album has entered this year-end chart since it first began in 1995. Their album, Crush, came in at number 11 for this year’s chart.

This albums was released in February and was the highest charting album in just the first week of its release. They also ranked number 61 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it their first time on this chart. This is the best record for a K-Pop album on this chart as well.

They were also seen on Rolling Stones as ’2014’s Best Pop Album’ and on Fuse TV’s ‘2014’s Best Album 40’ list.

Billboard also continued and stated that 2NE1’s international power has become stronger than ever. Leader CL is also preparing for her U.S. debut next year and has signed a contract with Scooter Braun, who also worked with Psy.

In just this year alone, 2NE1 has done various amount of work overseas in the states and has expanded their name.

They topped Billboard’s world digital songs chart, made appearances on TV shows including “The Bachelor” and “America’s Next Top Model”, had their song play in the Microsoft commercial and more.

Recently, 2NE1 performed their song, “Come Back Home” at the SBS Gayo Daejun, a year-end show. They performed on stage without member Bom, who is currently taking some time to reflect on her recent drug scandal.

We anticipate an even more event-filled year from 2NE1 in 2015.
