EXO Billboard Appears in Heart of New York City

EXO can now be seen in a prominent part of New York City, for a short time.

SM Entertainment's popular idol group EXO appeared in Times Square at the height of the holiday tourist season. The advertisement that features EXO was published by Youku, a popular Chinese video hosting website similar to YouTube.

The billboard announces the 2014 Youku Night, which will be held in the new year, on January 16.  The ad announces that EXO will be special guests at Youku Night.  This is the first time that EXO has been featured on a billboard in Times Square.

The picture is taken from EXO's "Overdose" promotions, but the photo has been edited to exclude former members Kris and Luhan. Baekhyun's position in the picture has also been moved to a different spot to even out the altered picture.

K-pop has been featured in Times Square before, with a prominent LG sponsored advertisement featuring Girls' Generation's "The Boys" music video.

The EXO billboard is featured prominently atop of a McDonald's branch, on the corner of 7th Avenue and 46th Street.  The ad is situated near multiple Broadway show posters, including Cabaret, Wicked, and The Phantom of the Opera. The Youku add is across the street from the large red TKTS steps that are a prominent feature of Times Square.

It is unknown when the EXO-Youku will be featured until, but Times Square is one of the most videoed places in the world on New Year's Eve.

Millions of pictures are taken in Times Square each year, as it is one of New York City's most iconic landmarks. According to Times Square's official website, more than 300,000 people pass through Times Square each day.  Millions of photographs are taken in the location.
