Kyuhyun's Father Charged With Violation Of Regulations For M Guest House

On the December 10, Super Junior's Kyuhyun revealed on Radio Star that he opened up a residence guest house, M Guest House, for visiting tourists in Myeondong, Seoul. However, the same guest house caused some problems for Kyuhyun and his father, the CEO.

Kyuhyun's father, Mr. Cho, has been officially charged by the police for operating a business without the proper permits, hence, illegally accepting customers.

The proper lodging license for the guest house, which has been operating since last September, permitted only one floor to operate. The rest of the floors in the 6-story building was deemed not suitable for accommodation services.

M Guest House is a large guest house that has become popular amongst foreigners and fans of Kyuhyun. It was been used as the location for many Super Junior events and fan signings.  The large 6-story building consists of sixty rooms, a cafe at ground level, and underground parking.

Mr. Cho had been accepting guests in five of the floors after applying for a permit for only one.

On December 24, a representative from SM Entertainment stated, "This situation occurred, because it was the first time Kyuhyun's father ran a business, and he did not clearly understand the relevant provisions." It was also stated, "If there are any problem areas, they will be corrected immediately."

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency booked Mr. Cho with the charges without detention.  Violation of these regulations usually result in less than a year of jail sentence or a fine of less than $10,000.
