Former EXO Member Kris Takes Another Acting Gig In China

Former Exo member Wu Yifan, also known by his stagename  Kris, is likely to be offered a role in the upcoming sequel of the Chinese film, "So Young."

Reports on Chinese media site say that Wu Yifan is being offered a lead role in "You Are Still Here," the follow up to 2013's award winning "So Young." If Wu Yifan takes the role, it will be his fourth film in China since he departed SM Entertainment's group EXO in May 2014.

Following the announcement that Wu Yifan (Kris) would be taking legal action to end his exclusivity contract with Korea's SM Entertainment and leaving popular idol group EXO, Wu Yifan started to pursue a solo career in China. He has confirmed roles in the films "Passion Heaven," "Somewhere Only We Know," and "Lao Pao Er."

Along with pursuing an acting career, Wu Yifan has also released two songs for the soundtracks of Chinese films. For the movie "Tiny Times 3," Kris sung "Time Boils The Rain," while his "There Is A Place" will be included on the soundtrack of "Somewhere Only We Know."

The Chinese idol also made headlines for gaining his own wax sculpture at the Shanghai branch of the famous museum, Madame Tussauds.

Despite his success in China, Wu Yifan is still amidst a legal battle with SM Entertainment. He will have a mediation meeting with SM Entertainment on January 16, the third attempt for the two parties to come to terms outside of court. Another former EXO member, Luhan, will also have a mediation meeting with SM Entertainment that day.

Prior to leaving EXO, Wu Yifan had gone by his stagename Kris, and was a rapper and the leader of EXO's Mandarin-speaking subgroup EXO-M.
