Former Olympic figure skating champion Yuna Kim may have hung up her skates, but she's still working hard as one of Korea's most famous athletic icons.

On December 16, the official Yuna Kim Facebook page uploaded a video showcasing the retired skater doing a photoshoot to promote the 2018 Winter Olympics taking place in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

"This is the ambassador for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Paralympics, Yuna Kim," said the 24-year-old Korean idol.

"You'll be able to learn the details of the upcoming Olympics through the 2018 Pyeongchang SNS. Please stay updated."

Last November, Kim was appointed the official ambassador for the 2018 Winter Olympics, with the organizing committee saying it expected "her to take the lead in promoting the games to the world."

According to CBC, Kim helped campaign for Pyeongchang during the city's bid at the International Olympic Committee meeting in South Africa in 2011. As one of the presenters during the meeting, Kim helped South Korea win its selection as host for the upcoming games.

"The memories that I made with the bid committee are still fresh in my mind," Kim said after being appointed ambassador. "With these memories in stow I am excited to bring the same passion and commitment with me to this new role with the organizing committee."

After winning a silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Kim skated her final farewell show at "All That Skate" in Seoul on May 6.

During the press conference following her final show, Kim teared up as she spoke to the press.

"This is really the last. I am not a member of the national team anymore but I will continue showing you good sides [of me] with other activities," said Kim "Since they became more competent and started getting recognized in the international competitions, I hope they set their goals higher."

"Everyone around me is crying, which makes me teary too. I lived as a skater for such a long time...and when I look back, it makes me [emotional and] want to cry."
