NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Deal Dion Waiters! Team Happy With Iman Shumpert But Still Looking For A Big Man! More Trades Coming Soon?

One of the NBA trade rumors finally came into fruition as the Cleveland Cavaliers finally sent Dion Waiters packing. They seem to be happy with their acquisitions even if it came with a price. Are the Cavaliers done? Maybe not.

The official statements from the Cavaliers were released and they seem to be content with their haul. Iman Shumpert is a promising rookie with a low price tag but they needed to take on J.R. Smith who was virtually untradeable a few months back.

Cavs GM David Griffin spoke to ESPN: "We wish Dion the best as he continues his career with the Thunder and thank him for his effort and work here with the Cavaliers. Dion is a talented player with potential ahead of him. Trades like this are always difficult to make because there are relationships and bonds built, and that was the case with Dion."

The team executive is looking forward: "At the same time, we're very excited to welcome Iman and J.R. to Cleveland. With their size and versatility, we think both Iman and J.R. can help our team on both ends of the court, and we look forward to them joining us."

After a trade, sports site ESPN had their experts weigh in on the transaction: "Good, but let's not confuse this as the type of deal that will propel them to a title. They managed to flip a malcontent (Waiters) and flotsam into Shumpert (defensive upgrade) and a first-round pick; Smith is basically a shot in the dark, with the hope that he can do more good than harm. It's a slight step in the right direction, but they still desperately need help up front."

The only problem for Cleveland is that the trade did not address the biggest need: A Center. NBC Sports notes: "But what exactly do the Cavaliers have on their roster to trade? Waiters was their big chip and it's going to take something of quality to get a big man. It's a supply and demand thing: Every team wants more size in the paint, so the teams willing to move a guy have options and can start a little bidding war."

Did the Cavs lose their chance to trade for a big man?
