The wait for the premiere of "Absolute Duo" is finally over. Episode one entitled "Blaze" was streamed for fans in North America thanks to Funimation. For those without subscriptions however, below are two links to websites where "Absolute Duo" episodes are available to stream for free online.

Synopsis:

The episode begins with a battle between Toru and Yurie. Toru summons his Blaze and blocks Julie's fang. Perhaps the battle is just a dream as the next scene finds Toru looking at Yurie from afar and admiring her beauty. He's interrupted by another new student who asks to walk to their school together. The school is Kouryou Academy.

Nagakura Imari is the girl's name - she introduces herself to Toru and they head inside. At the opening ceremony every student is forced to duel the student sitting next to them, and the loser is removed from the school. Toru tries to switch partners but Imari chooses to fight. Meanwhile, Yurie summons her Blaze.

Fights break out across all the students in the area. Toru dodges all of Imari's attacks and tells her to stop. He then reveals his Blaze, a shield. She fights him, but she ultimately loses. Yurie watches Toru with wide eyes.

Once the fight is over, Imari tells Toru that once you lose you've lost forever. She then says goodbye and leaves the school. Toru runs into Tora, who tells him that they're now guinea pigs for the director of the school. Everyone admires Yurie when she enters. She sits next to Toru shockingly and starts staring at him.

Their homeroom teacher Tsukimi Rito enters and explains how everything works, including how the pairs of students called "Duos" spend their entire school days with, including living and sleeping in the same room. Since Yurie is sitting next to Toru, they're forced to be temporary partners. Later on that night Toru enters their shared dorm. Toru tries to avoid anything inappropriate while telling Yurie about his technique in his fight with Imari.

Yurie falls asleep on him however and he has to put her to bed.
