The NBA 2015 Free agents are already a big part of the news. One of the players who's making a major impact on the court is set to make his mark on the salary cap. Draymond Green will get his money! Will it be with the Golden State Warriors or someone else?

Draymond Green is fast becoming the breakout star of the NBA. If not for the incredible performance of Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls, Green would be a top candidate for Most Improved Player. From Basketball Reference, he has averages of 12 points, 8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks -all of them nearly doubled from last season's numbers.

It's interesting to note that Green struggled during their training camp. The pressure of having to prove himself in a contract year got the better of the third year power forward. From an interview with Tim Kawakami of Mercury News:

"I don't think about it any more. I came into this season early on this year pressing, into training camp pressing, knowing that I worked on improving myself over the course of the off-season...

So you come into training camp knowing it's a new coaching staff, wanting to prove this and wanting to prove that, and I was awful.

One thing coach Gentry and coach Kerr told me is, 'Listen, we understand it's a contract year. We understand what you're going through.' Coach Kerr obviously played in the league and coach Gentry's been in the league for 30 years. 'We understand. Just let it come to you, be you, and it'll work out.'"

Listening to his mentors' advice has earned dividends for Green. It will also earn him big bucks. Green was a second round pick in 2012 and he earns only $ 1.7 million. That will definitely change this summer. The Golden State Warriors have the right to match any offer made to Green as he is a restricted free agent-and it's a safe bet that they will do so.
