NBA Rumors: Larry Sanders Not Quitting Basketball! Milwaukee Bucks Center Denies Rumors That He ‘Does Not Want To Play’ Anymore!

The NBA rumors went ablaze when Larry Sanders was rumored to be quitting the sport altogether. Sanders is in the front end of a huge contract and it's difficult to imagine he'd walk away from that.

It all started when Jason Kidd admitted to reporters that Sanders was absent from the team because of 'personal reasons.' Any other reason other than injury seems unjustifiable considering the huge investment the teams have paid them.

The details are still murky but the Milwaukee Bucks have quietly been trying to trade Sanders. Unfortunately for them, most of the other team executives caught on that there was a deeper problem. Sanders had a breakout year in 2012-13 when he averaged a double-double in points and rebounds and finished 2nd in the league in blocked shots. (Stats from Basketball Reference). He only played 23 games the following season.

Still, he already showed enough to earn a $ 44 million contract for four years. Since he was known as an emerging defensive force in the middle, the deal was even considered a bargain.

And now the Bucks are allegedly trying to get rid of that deal. Sanders addressed the issue in the Journal Sentinel:

"I figured with my absence that something was going to come out sooner than later. That's not true. But what is true I would say is that I'm in the process of working things out now internally to do what's best for my physique and my physical health going forward."

"There's a lot of evaluating going on. There's a lot of inside talk just to put myself in the best place for my health right now."

The embattled center also concurred with coach Jason Kidd's pronouncement that there is no timetable yet for his return:  "There's not right now. I kind of go by recommendations, so I'm definitely keeping my ear to those who are close to me and see what they say is best for my health moving forward."

So we still won't see Larry Sanders in Bucks green, but that doesn't mean 'never.' Professional basketball is a dream for millions all over the world. It's hard to imagine a gifted athlete just throw it all away.
