Following his group-mate Taemin, SHINee member Jonghyun has also debuted as a solo artist under SM Entertainment and in doing has swept Korean music charts clean.

Popular music rating chart, instiz, has released the ranking of Jonghyun's debut single Jonghyun and it appears that not only did he rank #1 on a majority of the highly regarded music ranking charts, but he is steadily on the rise on various other charts as well. Jonghyun has so far stolen the #1 spot on Melon, Bugs, Genie, Naver, iChart and more. The SHINee member competed against fellow popular idols EXID, APink and more but ultimately came out on top.

S.M. Entertainment first began teasing us by posting a mysterious symbol on their homepage morphing from a triangle into a square. The symbol turned out to be the sign transitioning what some fans perceive as Taemin's symbol from his solo debut morphing into Jonghyun's.

Fans also took note of the similar names, 'Ace' for Taemin and 'Base' for Jongyhun and that the solo debuts are interconnected. Despite some similar qualities in their solo's, fan can rest assure that each EP has their own flavor and 'Base' will bring out more sides of Jonghyun that will excite fans and have them wanting more.

Aside from being able to boast taking part in writing all the songs on his EP, Jonghyun also features some big name artists such R&B icon Zion.T, Younha, and rapper Iron. Popular solo artist Wheesung also had a hand in writing the lyrics for the track, "Hallelujah".

Following was the release of Jonghyun's teaser photos which had fans swooning all over the place from the accentuation of his handsome and sharp features. As if fans weren't already anxious, S.M. uploaded the highlight medley for the EP on January 7th and the music video for "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)" the following day.

It looks like 2015 is starting off strong! What can we expect next?
