Teen Top’s Chang Jo Says Kim Woo Bin & Yeo Jin Goo Are His Role Models

Recently idol-actor Chang Jo was interviewed for his role on the MBC drama "Sweden Laundry," where he plays an immature and loud-mouthed character.

Although Chang Jo has worked as a Teen Top member for the past 6 years, he is still considered a rookie when it comes to acting.  Although there are lots of areas for him to work on, the potential for the young singer/actor is endless.

Chang Jo sat down with OSEN on the 12th to discuss his first sentiments regarding acting and the various stories surrounding the episodes he appeared in.

When asked what his reason for venturing into acting was, Chang Jo replied, "It was something I always wanted to try. I remember vaguely wanting to try it, but when the opportunity came I took it and it became something natural for me. I slowly found myself wanting to do it more and more."

Chang Jo then revealed that he was often pressured by the label of being an idol. Often times, he found himself trying harder in order to avoid the criticism that most idols undergo when they venture off into other areas. "It was really hard trying to synchronize with the other actors at first," he claimed.

Then how did rookie actor Chang Jo practice his craft?

"I read a lot of different scripts, even practicing with my co-actor's recorded dialogue during free time." Chang Jo replied. "All the actors and directors gave me a lot of needed help. I recently gained a lot of emotional experience regarding my acting or expressions due to the constant guidance my director gave me during shooting."

As a last comment, Chang Jo expressed, "I would like to try musicals one day. I can act, sing, and dance so when the opportunity arises, I will take it."

Chang Jo's drama Sweden Laundry is a young adult fantasy drama about a woman (Song Ha Yoon) working in a Swedish Laundromat who acquires special powers from her deceased grandmother.
