‘Psycho-Pass' Movie Yields Special Themed Sweets Including Dominator Macaroons And Sibyl System Cake

Advertisements can either be so average that they are ignored, or so fun and interesting that it actually manages to draw in new fans.

Prior fans however will probably just become more excited by the interesting ones.

While the numbers for this box office weekend in Japan have yet to be released, one can probably guess that the "Psycho-Pass" movie managed to increase its numbers by having some pretty fun advertisments. The first was a Sibyl System scanner in the Japanese Metro system, and now photos of some special "Psycho-Pass" themed sweets have surfaced. The sweets include some Dominator macaroons and a Sibyl System cake.

Psycho-Pass" screenwriter Gen Urobuchi spoke to Anime News Network back in September about the world of the anime series, and how it relates to reality. Particularly, he spoke about the connection through popular villain character Shogo Makishima.

"Our world and that of Psycho-Pass aren't completely alien - there are a lot of shared problems, issues, and concepts," explained Urobuchi.

"If Shogo were to live in our world? I think he'd be able to find happiness and freedom. But one of the most important themes I was trying to convey in the creation of Psycho-Pass was "fear" in the world. That's why he has this sense of feeling out of place."

Perhaps this explains the popularity of "Psycho-Pass" in Japan. Furthermore, it makes it that much easier to adjust to "Psycho-Pass" themed food.

Crunchyroll reports that some "Psycho-Pass" themed sweets appeared at Japanese bakery Patisserie Swallowtail, including dominator macaroons, character themed cookies, and a Sibyl System cake that looks like a brain do to the pumpkin cream design and chocolate accents.

For those who may have missed all the "Psycho-Pass" hype when it aired its two seasons, Funimation describes the series as follows:

"In the future, even just thinking about a crime is enough to make you guilty - and justice is dispensed from the barrel of a gun. Detectives work in teams made up of Enforcers and Inspectors. Enforcers take out the bad guys, and Inspectors make sure their partners don't cross the fine line between good and evil.

The great equalizer in the war against thugs is the Dominator, a futuristic weapon that can read minds and assess the probability that a citizen will turn criminal. There are no trials. Only Enforcers, Inspectors, and the Dominator. Commit a crime in your mind - and the Dominator will make sure you pay the ultimate price."
