FTISLAND (F.T. Island) is embarking on their first solo U.S. tour, this January. The group last performed in the United States in March 2012 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles with their FNC Entertainment labelmates, CNBLUE.

FTISLAND will off their Live in the U.S. tour at New York City’s Best Buy Theater on Wednesday, January 28. The group will then perform in Los Angeles at Club Nokia L.A. Live on Friday, January 30.

The five-member pop-rock group features Lee Hong Ki on lead vocals. He is joined by Lee Jae Jin (vocals, bass), Song Seung Hyun (vocals, guitar), Choi Jong Hoon (guitar, keyboard), and Choi Min Wan (drums).

The group is like CNBLUE in that they have a unique pop-rock sound that is completed by their use of musical instruments. One factor which separates FTISLAND from CNBLUE is their edgier, hard rock songs, especially those found on their Japanese albums.

FTISLAND’s Japanese releases tend to feature a harder edged sound which resembles contemporary J-rock artists. “Be Free” from their 2014 album “New Page,” exemplifies the rock sound which can be heard on their numerous Japanese albums.

The group also has appeal to Korean drama fans. International K-Drama viewers were introduced to Lee Hong Ki through his portrayal of Jeremy in the 2009 musical drama “You’re Beautiful.” Lee Hong Ki made his entertainment debut as a child actor on the 2002 show “Magic Kid Masuri” and has continued to pursue acting roles with other notable dramas including “Bride of the Century” and “Modern Farmer.”

With a catalog which ranges from ballads to hard driving rock, FTISLAND will perform songs which can touch the hearts of most music fans.
