Korea’s ‘Rare Item’ Duo Davichi Prepares For Second Coming

Duo Davichi has just announced the news of their new revival in music. This could possibly be the biggest turning point since their debut 8 years ago.

Davichi will make their comeback with their album Davichi Hug on the 21st. With this album being the first under their new agency, listeners can expect a completely fresh sound from the talented duo. The album will boast more mature qualities and a refreshed sonic appeal inspired by their new direction.

Davichi will release double singles for Davichi Hug, a first since their debut album in 2008 which contained the hits "I Love You Even Though I Hate You" and "Sad Promise."

If things go as planned, the new album will contain the singles "Crying Again" and "I'm Sorry that I'm Happy," along with 3 other unknown tracks. According to Davichi's agency, the track "Crying Again" will be a mellow separation themed ballad while the track "I'm Sorry That I'm Happy" will be more up-tempo and bouncy. Three of the songs were written and composed by members Lee Hari and Kang Min Kyung. CJ E&M, Davichi's agency, stated, "This album is set to be the best one yet, with album and music video shootings underway."

The new album will boast a luxurious and mature sentiment while also showcasing a new pants fashion that has never been utilized by the group before.

The comeback will also include the opening of the group's first official fan club and first ever showcase. A representative of the agency stated, "Although Davichi has gathered much love in the past, they have never had an official fan club until now. We have gathered about 700-800 members for the group and the first fan meeting will take place on the 14th. We expect both parties to have a lot of anticipation and excitement regarding the news."

In addition, Davichi's first showcase since their debut 8 years ago will take place on the 21st. The news was first revealed last July through CJ E&M.

Davichi has taken place as one of the premiere ballad duos in Korea since their debut album Amaranth in 2008. Some of their notable hits include "I Love You Even Though I Hate You," "Stop The Time," "Turtle," "8282," and "Letter."

Despite their veteran statuses, Davichi is expected to undergo many first time changes. Despite their reputation as the nation's "Rare Item", many wonder if Davichi will be able to grab the attention of the music industry with their new appeal.
