After six months of romance, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are finally engaged.   

According to reports out Thursday, Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are engaged.

A source told E! News, "Twilight" actress and singer and the "Vampire Diaries" actor were "crazy happy from the start." When Ian Somerhalder popped the question, a source told Us Weekly, Reed "accepted with glee."

The couple who have been dating for six months now started making headlines in July. The pair already co-parents several critters including, Sohalia, one of the two cats and one horse the couple have adopted. According to Gossip Cop, they have also started a production company together.

The "Vampire Diaries" star and the The Twilight Saga alum attended the InStyle and Warner Bros. Golden Globe Awards after-party as a couple.

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are all set to take another step in their relationship and even planning about having "multiple babies" this year.

"They are in love beyond belief and babies are in the mix, multiple babies and they want to start this year!", a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com

The exciting news follows right after a source claimed the lovebirds have got engaged. According to the insider, ''It happened over the holidays.

''They mentioned a June [wedding] date. They're really excited.''

The wedding plans come almost a year after the stunning actress announced she was divorcing American Idol musician Paul McDonald in March 2014. The "Twilight" actress was spotted wearing two diamond bands on her right ring finger in the past few weeks, which according to an insider was a way of the pair keeping the exciting news under wraps. Somerhalder dated his "Vampire Diaries" costar, Nina Dobrev for about three years and they broke up in May 2013.

Ian Somerhalder recently gushed about his wife-to-be, calling her one "of the most beautiful ladies in the universe."
