'Battle Spirits' 2015 'Burning Soul' Project Reveals Main Characters And New Trailer [VIDEO]

Trading card games may still have a place in the hearts of the kids who still battle each other in local restaurants (See "Yu-Gi-Oh!" Tournaments in McDonalds) but trading card games often have series based on them to thank for their popularity.

This is especially true for "Yu-Gi-Oh!" since the series came before the game, even if that created a huge misunderstanding about the rules later.

The "Battle Spirits" 2015 series "Battle Spirits: Burning Soul" is full speed ahead to its premiere as the main characters have now been revealed in a new trailer. The trailer, which "Battle Spirits" fans can watch below, previews the series that is set to premiere in April 2015.

Crunchyroll reports that Kunihisa Sugimoto, best known for directing "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters" and "Metal Fight Beyblade," is set to direct to the latest "Battle Spirits" series. The website also reports that the series will be composed by Katsumi Hasegawa (who also worked on "Metal Fight Beyblade") and Yoshinori Yumoto will handle original anime character designs alongside Kenta Shinohara's original character designs.

The previous iterations of "Battle Spirits" include "Battle Spirits: Ultimate Zero," "Battle Spirits: Sword Eyes," "Battle Spirits: Haou," "Battle Spirits: Brave," "Battle Spirits: Shounen Gekiha Dan," and the original series, "Battle Spirits: Shounen Toppa Bashin."

Anime News Network reports that "Battle Spirits" is a trading card game created by Bandai in which cards represent dragons, demons, insects, birds, and other spirits that players control in battles. The first anime adaptation of "Battle Spirits" aired in September 2008. The last iteration "Battle Spirits: Ultimate Zero" ended its run in September 2014.

Although none of the major North American licensing companies such as Funimation or Crunchyroll have announced simulcasts, fans can likely expect some kind of new version of the trading card game to be released internationally.

Because seemingly nothing advertises a trading card game better than a series based upon it.
