Star Empire Apologizes To W.Korea For Nine Muses ‘Drama’ Pictorial Controversy

Girl Group Nine Muses released a statement concerning the plagiarism controversy surrounding their jacket images, stating, "We did not receive prior consultation for the images and for that we are deeply sorry."

On the 16th, a representative of Star Empire explained that the company as a whole was very apologetic towards W. Korea and the rumor that consultation was received for the photo release was in fact fabricated.

"As we were unable to get in contact with a representative from W. Korea prior to our shoot, we decided to go ahead as there seemed to be no evidence copyright infringement, and that was a fault on our parts," the representative claimed. "The 9MUSES jacket images were in fact based off the W. Korea 2012 March Issue, so we would like to apologize to W. Korea and photographer Hong Janghyun for the controversy and miscommunication."

The incident first occurred on the 14th when Nine Muses jacket images for their album Drama were released. The images were immediately compared to the fashion magazine's previous images and claims of plagiarism rose from the striking similarities between the two pictorials.
