SS501 Members Reunite For First Concert Performance In 5 Years
Three members of SS501 reunited for a concert for the first time in five years.
Kim Hyung Jun, Heo Young Saeng, and Park Kyu Jong performed at the Musical & Talk Concert on January 17. The concert was organized by the Seoul Police Promotional Team. Young Saeng is currently fulfilling his obligatory military service by serving in the Seoul Police Promotional Team.
This was the first time that SS501 members performed together in concert in nearly five years. However, they have performed together at solo ventures of the members. The three, with SS501's other members Kim Hyun Joong and Park Jungmin, performed in 2013 together at Young Saeng's farewell concert before entering the army.
The trio had performed as SS501's project group in the past, promoting the song "U R Man." Kim Hyung Jun's agency SH Entertainment said that the three of them have discussed performing together in the past.
Two members did not appear at the event, despite fans clamoring for a total reunion. Kim Hyun Joong is currently promoting in Japan, with plans to release an album there. He is also embroiled in an on-going high profile domestic violence case. Park Jungmin was supposed to appear in the drama Ho-Gu's Love, but has since pulled out due to an injury.
SS501 has been on hiatus, but has never officially disbanded. Their performance at Heo Young Saeng's farewell event in 2013 was the first time that all five had reunited and performed together since 2010.
Kyu Jong and Hyung Jun both shared images on their Instagram accounts. The two celebrated the chance to perform SS501 songs in a formal concert setting, and rejoiced about the fact that they can once again meat their fans.
