Ipsy January 2015 Bag Review [+VIDEO]: Hikari Eye Liner, La Fresh Eco-Beauty Moisturizer, MALIN+GOETZ Mojito Lip Balm, Manna Kadar Sheer Glo, Pacifica Eye Shadow

Welcome to 2015, Ipsters! My Ipsy January 2015 glam bag was a hit and started off the new year right! Read on for my reviews about my Ipsy January 2015 glam bag, which included the Hikari eye liner, La Fresh Eco-Beauty moisturizer, MALIN+GOETZ mojito lip balm, Manna Kadar Sheer Glo, and the Pacifica eye shadow. Watch my unboxing video below!

The bag: This month's Ipsy bag is a slim, textured, and multi-colored pouch. One side of the bag is deep blue, the other side is white, and the top has a cute salmon-pink zipper. I'm not crazy about the white side but I like that the bag is playful, unlike last month's somber black color.

Hikari Mechanical Eye Liner in Storm: This eyeliner was way too soft. I twisted the bottom of the pencil to get to the product and pushed firmly on my skin - and a significant portion of the pencil snapped and fell off. I managed to push it back into the pencil but not a good sign. When I used the eyeliner to line my bottom waterline, I noticed that the product did not transfer to my skin evenly and the light gray color was not very pigmented and clumped around my eyelashes. This eyeliner is one of the worst I've tried. Price: $13.00

La Fresh Eco-Beauty Be Good. Good Day. Day Moisturizer: This is a wonderful moisturizer full of lots of great, natural ingredients for your skin, like collagen-producing peptides, super-hydrating hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants from maqui berry, licorice root, ginko leaf, grape seed, hickory bark, cucumber, aloe, Vitamin B, C, and E. It has a thick, creamy consistency that absorbs well once it's been rubbed in. My hyper-sensitive skin in the winter had zero irritation to this product and in fact looked brighter and more moisturized after using it. However, this moisturizer doesn't have any SPF though it's a "day moisturizer," so make sure to wear it underneath your makeup with SPF, or sunscreen. I only wish the sample size was bigger! Price: $12.00 for 0.5 oz

MALIN+GOETZ Mojito Lip Balm: Lip balms are either crappy or amazing - and this one is definitely in the amazing category. With a smooth, gel-like consistency, the MALIN+GOETZ lip balm has a moisturizing consistency that makes lips look and feel supple and soft. The smell is subtle but fresh and clean. I will definitely buy this product after this sample runs out - even though the full size is a hefty $12. Price: $6.00 for 0.20 oz

Manna Kadar Sheer Glo: I received an illuminator in last month's bag (TEMPTU's highlighter), so I was surprised to get another one this month. I do like illuminators though - the subtle glow adds brightness to my face and highlights my cheekbones, which need all the help they can get! I wasn't crazy about the pink tone of Manna Kadar's highlighter. However, once I applied the product it blended into my skin tone quite naturally. The packaging isn't great and a lot of product spills out when you squeeze the tube. I wouldn't say this illuminator makes a huge difference and it is definitely more subtle than TEMPTU's highlighter but this Sheer Glo does add a little sparkle - and what girl doesn't like a little glitter in her life? Price: $8.00 for 0.27 oz

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in Treasure: Ipsy knows me well - the only eyeshadow I like to use are browns and golds, and this Pacifica eye shadow has both. The shade Treasure is a warm brown color with flecks of gold and looks lovely on my olive skin. The product is very loose, so make sure to tap your eyeshadow brush a bit before applying or you'll get too much on your eyelids. The pigmentation is surprisingly good and very flattering. I only noticed the slightest smudging after a day's wear. Price: $7.00

The total value of my Ipsy January 2015 glam bag came up to about $46, a bit higher than last month's $40 estimate. My favorite product is a tie between the La Fresh Eco-Beauty Be Good. Good Day. Day Moisturizer and the MALIN+GOETZ Mojito Lip Balm because they are both high-quality products that really work! The most disappointing product is the Hikari Mechanical Eye Liner because of the lack of pigmentation and the poor quality of the product; it broke and clumped on my eyelashes - not cute.

Did you get the same products in your bag? How did it differ? What did you think of your products this month? Let me know in the comments section below!
