2NE1's Dara To Take On Lead Role In Korean-Chinese Web Drama

2NE1's Dara, also known as Sandara Park, will be taking on the lead role in Dr. Mo Clinic.

Dara will star alongside actor Kim Young Kwang. The drama will be a web-series that will be released simultaneously on both Korea's Naver TVCAST and China's Youku. The show will begin filming in February.

Dr. Mo Clinic will feature Dara as a woman with psychological problems, who seeks help from Kim Young Kwang's therapist. Kim's therapist specializes in hypnotizing his patients to help them with their problems, but will also be healed throughout the series.

Dara's character, Lee So Dam, will be an oddball who wears masks and covers her face whenever she feel uncomfortable.

The web-series will be directed by Kwon Hyuk Chan, who directed popular dramas including Secret Garden, The Master's Sun, and A Gentleman's Dignity.

This will be the first time that Dara will have a major acting role in Korea since 2009, when she had a secondary role in The Return of Iljimae.  Following her debut as a 2NE1 member, Dara has only acted as herself or appeared in cameo roles.

Dara appeared in the 2014 Funny or Die series, What's Eating Steven Yeun.

Prior to joining YG Entertainment in 2007, Dara had been one of the Philippine's up-and-coming actresses.

Kim Young Kwang is a popular model and actor, who has appeared in many films and dramas including Pinocchio, Plus Nine Boys, Good Doctor, Hot Young Bloods, Runway Cop, My Fair Lady, and several others.

Dr. Mo Clinic is expected to begin broadcasting on both Youku and Naver TAXICAST in March, after the completion of filming.
