JYJ’s First Japanese Single ‘Wake Me Tonight’ Tops Music Charts With Little Local Promotion

K-pop trio JYJ is topping the charts and their label isn't keeping it a secret,"

“Yesterday, JYJ’s first Japanse single 'Wake Me Tonight’ received a positive response,” read an official C-jES Entertainment statement. “Right after its release it ranked second on the Oricon Daily chart and first on the HMV 24 Hour chart. Although their album release was different from other artists, they still received a great response from fans. They performed their new songs first at their concert before releasing their actual album two months later."

Although it took JYJ a long time for the group to release an album in Japan, their fans have apparently continued to support the group.

Last year, their South Korean album, "Just Us," ranked first on the Japan Tower Records chart with little promotion. The group also consistently draws Japanese crowds in six figures.
