Former Skarf Member Ferlyn Flying Solo With Her 'First' Single

Ferlyn G, a Singaporean singer who was formerly from Kpop girl group Skarf, released her "First" single, with a launch event at Bugis+ mall atrium on early January. With striking purple and green hair, Ferlyn stands out with her edgy look, which is a refreshing change in image from her days as a member of Skarf.

Her album launch event was kick-started with a series of performances by iGlobal Star's trainees as well as students from LWS (Lee Wei Song, a popular Singaporean songwriter) Music School.

Ferlyn performed two songs, energetic dance track "Luv Talk", featuring Tiny-G's Mint and a beautiful Chinese ballad "不见不散"  showing a more emotive side of herself.

Sharing her thoughts of going solo, she said she had put much more effort as all the responsibilities are on her. She thanked fans for buying her album and mused, "I will sign it nicely!"

Mint from K-Pop girl group Tiny-G specially flew to Singapore to support her and performed "Luv Talk" with Ferlyn onstage. Mint said "This is actually my third time in Singapore" as she came previously for song recording and MV filming. Ferlyn felt thankful towards Mint. Both of them are good friends and Ferlyn even made a revelation about the "secret" they shared; they had gone out secretly (without managers knowing) to eat ice cream while in Korea.

After the album launch, an autograph session was held for fans. The first lucky 50 fans who bought her album at the launch could join Ferlyn's fan party, which was held in Kbox at Safra Toa Payoh, after the album launch.

At the fan party, a surprise awaited Ferlyn, as a special video containing behind the scenes footage of her MV filming and video messages from fans showing support for her. Ferlyn was touched and thankful for all the support she received since she debuted with Skarf. She said, "I promise to always work hard and I want to be a form of encouragement for my fans."

Ferlyn and Mint played games with fans and had a Q&A session with fans. One of the fans asked Ferlyn whether Skarf members have listened to her new song, she replied that they have not, "But I sent them a picture and they have watched my teaser videos. They liked it." Ferlyn even imitated Hana's cute reaction to her new image. Another fan asked Mint to rate Ferlyn and her own dancing skills, and who is the better dancer, Mint replied shyly that "I have a more hip-hop style, while Ferlyn has a different style, so both of us get 5 out of 10 points and together we are 10 out of 10, full marks!" It was a perfect answer, which brought laughter to all present at the fan party that let fans interact closely with Ferlyn and Mint. Full marks for fanservice too!
