VIXX Announces Cover Song For February Comeback

VIXX will make their first 2015 comeback by releasing a cover song.

VIXX’s representative agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, is reported to have announced the group’s next digital single. The single will be a remake of a dance song. However, Jellyfish Entertainment didn’t clarify whether it would be a remake of VIXX’s own song or of another artist’s. The group is in preparatory stages, and but a February release date for the album is likely.

A Jellyfish Entertainment representative spoke to Korean outlet Newsen about the impending comeback.

“VIXX is currently preparing to make a comeback with February as the goal,” said the rep. “We′ll be remaking a dance song and releasing it as a digital single.”

The single will also be conceptually more upbeat than many of VIXX’s dark, dramatic title songs, including 2014’s “Error.” VIXX has been conceptualized as different sort of monsters in several of the group’s songs and music videos; the last bright song that VIXX released was 2013’s “G.R.8.U.”

This will be the first time that VIXX releases a remake of another song as a digital single.

VIXX’s February comeback date means that VIXX will partake in intense competition among male idol groups. While few other comebacks of Korean male groups have been confirmed for February, groups including Big Bang, EXO, and WINNER are all rumored to be making comebacks. JYP Entertainment's girl group miss A is also likely to make a comeback around the same time.

VIXX debuted in 2012, and gained recognition for its unique style in 2013 with songs like "Hyde" and "Voodoo Doll."
