According to TV Guide, the synopsis for the "Scandal" mid-season 4 premiere reads: "Details of Olivia's abduction from her own home are seen from her point of view."

"The physical kidnapper we have not met before,"  Scott Foley, who plays Jake on the series, revealed to TVGuide.com in a spoiler chat. "We don't know the person. We just know [Andrew and Lizzie] are behind it. It has to do with all the stuff going on in West Angola."

More spoilers - from creator Shonda Rhimes herself - reveal that fans shouldn't expect any time to have passed since the mid-season finale.

"No time will have lapsed," series creator Shonda Rhimes states. "And negative time will have lapsed."

Expect some flashbacks, people!

Rhimes also said that the mid-season premiere is one that fans can really look forward to, as it's "probably my favorite episode that we've done, ever. It's my favorite episode that I've written, of anything that I've written. But it's probably our favorite episode that we've done ever."

But don't think Olivia will be rescued right away: "It's definitely not going to be a one-episode, short little thing," Rhimes teased.
