This week we're bowing down in front of one of Dara's outfits at the 201454 Gaon Awards. The 2NE1 star rocked a few looks throughout the show, but the most thoroughly bold K-pop look was her modern day cowgirl look. From the feather sticking out out of her cap to her untraditional cowboy boots, this woman came to play. Keep reading for tips on putting together a similar look. Even if you loved the look on her but not sure if you've got the right rodeo to rock this look, remember that a lot of these pieces (the adventure hat, the denim shirt dress) are staples that you can make work in a variety of ways. 

Armitage Avenue Feather Fedora, $49 from Lori's Shoes

We've seen quite a few fedoras on the K-pop red carpets this season, for good reason. They add an air of mystery and sophistication to any outfit. They also mean you don't have to pay too much attention to your hair. Dara's feather addition to this outfit was the perfect flair -- as if she plucked it straight from a wild bird she met in her Wild West travels. 

Dangling Leaf Chandelier Earrings, $6 from Charlotte Russe

This pair of chandelier earrings from Charlotte Russe doesn't pack the same punch that Dara's pair did, but they're still a glitzy addition to any outfit. These are noisy little buggers -- rock your head a little before making a grand entrace, and everyone will hear you and your earrings coming from a few steps away. 

Triple Row Mesh Choker, $13.98 from Nordstrom Rack

Going subtle with jewelry is a smart move in an outfit that contains so many elements like fedoras and fringe. This choker is simple yet fierce, and would work with anything from a business suit to a cocktail dress and (as Dara shows) anything in between.

Urban Denim Shirt Dress, $47.99 from Pink Ice

The denim shirt dress is a closet staple and can be worn in several different ways. Feel free to go full on cowgirl like Dara, even pairing it with more traditional cowboy boots or a fringed-out leather bag. But this also looks great with a thin neon belt, black tights, and killer heels, or underneath a chunky cardigan. 

Faux Leather Fringed Vest, $32.80 from Forever 21

Fringe! It's the flair that evokes so many different eras and styles (Native American clothing, fringe vests from the 1970s, flying off the skirts of 1920s flappers, etc.), and yet always seems fresh and fierce. It's a perfect accent on this otherwise basic black leather vest. Standing still, it screams chic. Flying around while you're dancing, it says "stay away or my fringe will slap you." 

Faux Sude Chain-Accent Ankle Boots, $32.36 from YesStyle

Dara decided to go with a modern, sky-high ankle boot here instead of a leather cowboy boot, which makes the outfit channel "K-pop fashion icon" rather than "lost cowgirl." The skinny heel and the metal chains are an especially effective way to say you mean business anywhere you walk in this shoe.
