Veteran Singer Uhm Jung Hwa Signs With Music Label Mystic89

Veteran singer and accomplished actress Uhm Jung Hwa has signed with musical label Mystic 89, which represents K-pop talents such as Ga In and Kim Ye Rim. Uhm first hinted at a possible comeback during Infinite Challenge's special episode Saturday, Saturday is for Singers (TOTOGA).

Uhm has prioritized her acting career in the last couple of years. She starred in various dramas, such as the romantic comedy Witch's Romance, and films, such as the intense thriller Best Seller.

Several K-pop idols, including After School's Uee and Davichi's Kang Min Kyung, have chosen her as their role model. During her interview for InStyle's February issue, Kang stated, "I fell for her knack of always being fashionable and her unchanging, cool image on stage. I want to remain a cool singer as I age and years pass like Uhm Jung Hwa sunbaenim..."

Uhm's last musical project was in 2008, when she released her mini album D.I.S.C.O. The album was produced with the help of YG Entertainment artists and producers, although she never official signed with the company. The lead single "D.I.S.C.O" featured Big Bang's T.O.P and was a chart topping success. You can watch the colorful and flashy music video below. It features a rainbow tanning bed, old school one-pieces, and a cameo appearance by well-known YG producer Teddy.

A remixed version of the song called "D.I.S.C.O Part 2" that featured Big Bang's G-Dragon was also heavily promoted. You can watch a live performance of the song below.

2NE1's leader CL was also featured in the star-studded mini album. She rapped in the reggae inspired track "DJ." You can watch a live performance below.

Uhm Jung Hwa's fans can't wait to see what distinct style the talented singer will try in this new musical endeavor.
