K-Pop Idol Dance Groups Disappearing from Music Charts, 'Ballads Taking Over'

Top idol dance groups such as Girls' Generation, Big Bang, KARA seem to be disappearing from the charts.

Music charts such as MelOn and Mnet don't show any signs of top idol groups in the higher rankings.

As of November 11, miss A is the only idol group in the top 10 at number 9.

The biggest reason for them not being on the charts is because they have not released any new albums as of late.

While top idols are taking a break, it seems that vocalists and ballad singers have taken over the charts.

Group Noel, K.Will, Byul, Kim Jong Kook and others have all comeback with their new albums and doing well on the charts.

All these singers have made a comeback after long hiatuses or have celebrated their 10th anniversary since debut.

Critics say that idol groups performance and visual based stages have become all that the public has seen for that past 2-3 years and that ballads and vocalists are their escape to enjoy good music that they listen to with their ears rather than by seeing with their eyes.

With these ballad singers making a comeback, rookie idol groups are also being pushed back by their popularity.

Amongst these ballad singers, idols B1A4 and Dal Shabet will be making their comeback this month.
