K-Pop Crossover: 2NE1's CL Confirms Collaboration With The Black Eyed Peas For Their 20th Anniversary Album

After teasing fans on Twitter, a new collaboration between the Black Eyed Peas and 2NE1's Lee "Chaerin" CL has been confirmed by the K-pop rapper.

On Wednesday, CL uploaded two photos to Instagram. Each photo features a member of the Black Eyed Peas, including rappers will.i.am and apl.de.ap.

On Thursday, will.i.am spoke to "Capital FM Breakfast Show" on the group's plans to celebrate 20 years since the release of their debut album.

"We're gonna have new music, we'll have a bunch of new experiences, [but] I don't wanna call them albums," said 39-year-old rapper.

"We'll have experiences and a bunch of stuff to get the PEAbodies, and the folks that supported us, that got us to this point, all the support the love, the encouragement and listening to and sharing our music. We'll make music for them and just reflect on the initial dream we had in June, 1995."

Later that week, will.i.am tweeted CL on Twitter, asking the fellow rapper to join them on this year's new release. This sentiment was soon echoed by Black Eyed Peas member Taboo.

Given CL's hashtag used on her recent photo with the group, it appears that wish could become a reality when the Black Eyed Peas release new material this year.

CL is also in the United States to work on her solo debut. According to Koreaboo, CL has been in the States since Jan. 13 and will remain here until early February. Reportedly, her record label YG Entertainment has set up a headquarters in the country in order to facilitate the process.

The female rapper is rumored to be working with Sean Garrett, Diplo, Skrillex, Florence and the Machine, among others. Her debut will be overseen by talent manager Scooter Braun, known for working with Psy, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
