Kara Earned $73 Million In Japan

Girl Group Kara ranked 4th place on Oricon's '2011 Annual Artist Total Revenue', top among Korean artists.

According to Japanese media on December 19th, Kara ranked 4th by earning US$73 Million only from revenues on CD and DVD sales. SNSD ranked 5th followed by Kara, earning US$60 Million.

Korean Artists placing 4th and 5th place on the CD and DVD sales clearly indicates high recognition of Korean artists and popularity of K-Pop.

1st place went to AKB48, the top Japanese girl group, with US$240 Mllion, 2nd to male idol Arashi with US$200 Million, and 3rd place went to EXILE with total of US$80 Million. AKB48, the Japanese national idol group, ranked top 5 places by exceeding 1 million album sold on every 5 singles.'

On Oricon's 'New Band Revenue Ranking', 2PM and Shinee ranked 2nd and 3rd. Kara and SNSD ranked 1st and 2nd on the same section on previous year.
