Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop 5.0 Release Date Revealed Online As Samsung Cites Its Plan To Directly Jump To The Lollipop 5.1 Update Soon!

Good news Samsung smartphone users as Samsung Galaxy Note 4 along with other Samsung smartphones will soon receive an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The new Android 5.0 Lollipop is now out as reports from TechRadar revealed, that the new Lollipop will feature a visual overhaul and numerous under-the-hood improvements to enhance the speed, making it more efficient and lighter on your battery.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 along with other smartphones by Samsung is a little slow on the uptake as far as receiving an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop is concerned. The Android 5.0 Lollipop was released back in November last year. More than two weeks ago, Inquisitr reports that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was last stated to be receive the update "soon."

"Samsung has admitted that it's been a bit slow to roll out the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS to all of its devices. The reason for the slow update is that TouchWiz needed a makeover to work compatibly with the new OS."

Reports from the Inquisitr claims that one of the reasons for the delay is that Samsung plans to skip the 5.0 update entirely and directly jump to 5.1 as it features a number of bug fixes that enhance user experience to a great extent. With the update already been delayed, it only makes more sense to spend a little more time and not to go for half-measures.

Although it is still not known when the update is going to go live, GottaBeMobile.com refers to French carrier SFR, according to which it is going to happen before the end of Feb. this year.

"Specifically, the carrier says that it will push the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update live in late February though it fails to confirm a specific date. This falls in line with its current Android update timeline that puts both the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop updates within the confines of this month."

There are more Samsung devices other than Galaxy Note 4 and S5 that are going to get the new software in the near future. According to Inquisitr, Sprint currently is working on Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update. It's worth mentioning that the update in question is not 5.1 but 5.0. Apparently, the new version will be adapted a little later, when the carrier is done with updating newer and more popular devices.

Despite the fact that Samsung is also supposed to release Lollipop for other devices such as Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Alpha, and Galaxy S5 mini, there is no information on the subject so far.

In order to single out all possible bugs before releasing the update to the rest of the world, Samsung will release their updates in stages. At the moment, Samsung is using Russia as its test market.

Inquisitr further speculated that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and S5 will get Lollipop before the end of February.
