Google I/O 2015 Dates Announced As Registration For Google's Annual Developer Conference Begins On March 17!

It looks like the dates for Google's upcoming event, Google I/O 2015 have revealed online.

For those who are not aware of the event, the Google I/O is an annual software developer-focused conference held by Google as the event will be on May 28-29 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Fransico, California.

According to the Google I/O 2015website , the registration for the event kicks off on March 17 at 12 p.m. Eastern and closes on March 19.

At the moment, there are no further information regarding Google's big event. Google has only posted a basic schedule on the I/O 2015 site as PCMag reports that lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on both days of the event.

Google senior vice president Sundar Pichai, announced the dates on dates on Google+ and Twitter, redirecting to the official Google I/O 2015 website.

According to VentureBeat, the search engine giant plans to stream the event online via I/O Live and it will also hold "I/O Extended" events in other cities.

"I/O Extended events may include live streamed sessions, local developer demos, hackathons and more. These events are brought to you by our Google Developer Groups, Student Ambassadors, and local developers."

In fact, you too can host your own I/O Extended event by simply following the organizer guide and then submitting your event.

TechSpot reports that Google will employ a lottery system to select lucky recipients that will be offered the opportunity to purchase a ticket to the event.

Google opts for a lottery system simply because the demand for tickets is extremely high. Going by the first-come, first-served model implied that the tickets often sold out in under an hour. According to TechSpot, the lottery model gives everyone a fair chance of being picked to attend. And for those who aren't selected, there is always the possibility that Google could put some last-minute tickets up for grabs.

Last year, Google charged $900 a head, however no information about how much the search giant plans to charge for ticket is available. The cost of admission is compensated as Google gives attendees some pretty cool swag.

During last year's I/O event, conference goers received two Android Wear smart watches and a Google Cardboard kit.
