Former MBLAQ Members Lee Joon And Thunder Pursue Solo Careers

Lee Joon and Thunder (Park Sang Hyun,) both of whom recently left idol group MBLAQ, are pursuing solo activities. Korean media has reported about Lee Joon's upcoming acting projects, and revealed that Thunder recently signed a contract with a new entertainment company.

Both Thunder, also known by the Korean version of his name Cheondung, and Lee Joon left MBLAQ after their contracts expired. The group debuted in 2009 with five members. The remaining three members, G.O, Mir, and Seungho, renewed their contracts with J.Tune Camp and announced that they will promote as a three member group for the time being.

Shortly after the two left J.Tune Camp, it was reported that Lee Joon signed with a new entertainment agency, Prain TPC. The agency primarily manages actors, and Lee Joon is pursing a career as an actor.

While still in MBLAQ, the idol appeared in many dramas including Iris II, Gapdong, and Mr. Baek. Prior to debuting, he had appeared in Ninja Assassin, and Lee won an award in 2013 for his role in Rough Play. Lee Joon will be appearing alongside Go Ah Sung in the upcoming SBS drama, I Heard A Rumor, where he will play the teenage son of a wealthy family who impregnates Go's character.

Thunder announced previously that he would focus on studying music, but ENews World has reported that he signed with Mystic Entertainment's music label, Apop.

According to ENews, Apop revealed the news on February 11, announcing that Thunder will pursue a career in both acting and music. "We've signed an exclusive contract with Thunder. He is an artist with infinite potential in many different fields," the company revealed.

"We will be supporting not only his music activities but his growth in various fields, such as acting and variety shows. His acting will especially be supported by Mystic Entertainment's acting label, Family Actors."

The representative also said, "Thunder has been acquainted with producer Jo Young Chul since before he debuted [with MBLAQ.] As much as Thunder has a lot of passion and desire to promote in the entertainment industry, we will actively help him out so his talents can shine. We ask for your support, encouragement and interest."

Prior to debuting, Thunder gained popularity for being the younger brother of 2NE1's Dara.

Along with the news, Apop also released new promotional pictures of Thunder.
