Android Lollipop 5.0 Emerge As The Most Stable OS As Recent Study Shows It Had Lower Crash Rates Compared To The iOS 8 And Android KitKat!

Looks like Android Lollipop 5.0 is a more reliable operating system as compared to Apple's iOS.

Google's latest Android software, the Android 5.0 "Lollipop" had lower crash rates as opposed to iOS 8 and Android KitKat according to a recent study. TheNextDigit.com stated that the older versions of Android and iOS 7.1 had lower crash rates.

Android Lollipop had 0.2 percent lesser crash rates compared to iOS 8 while Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 faced crash issues followed by KitKat. Android Lollipop was unveiled on June 25, 2014 during Google I/O and became available through official over-the-air (OTA) updates on Nov. 12, 2014 for select devices such as Nexus and Google Play edition devices.

Despite the fact that Android Lollipop was released a few months back, TheNextDigit claim it was comparatively more stable than the iOS 8, which had numerous issues that frustrate users.

The study adds that such criticism can be compared to the crash rate of iOS 7, iOS 8 and five Android versions.

While iOS 7 had 2.02% crash rate, the Apple iOS 8 had an average app crash rate of 2.18%. Android Lollipop had a crash rate of 2.15%, while TheNextDigit claim that the KitKat has a crash rate of 2.76%. The results were based on reports from more than 20,000 apps used on both the platforms. However, an overall comparison revealed that iOS had a lower crash rate than Android.

Although the report studies app stability, it also depends on the nature of usage, RAM and the internal storage in the device. Companies provide updates to fix the bugs, however users face more crashes in older devices. According to TheNextDigit, the report is based on third-party apps and does not explore pre-installed software for glitches.

Right from its release, Apple iOS 8 had several bugs and issues and the company is yet to fix the bugs even with the release of the newest 8.1.3 update. Nevertheless, Apple will soon be releasing iOS 9 including a complete new interface with major fixes.
