Another female singer has gotten mixed up in a slew of online rumors.

Recently a rumor has begun spreading among K-pop fans in online communities that suggests a young female pop star has become entangled in a sex scandal with a popular older actor.

With many fingers pointing at EXID singer Ahn Hee Yeon (also known as Hani), Yedang Entertainment has a released a statement calling the rumors "ludicrous."

On February 16, the rumor of unknown origins appeared through several fan portals suggesting that a rising star has been involved in a secret relationship with a well-known actor.

"A popular member of a girl group that has recently started to gain fame late into their debut has been involved in a secret love affair with one of Korea’s top middle-aged actors," read the allegation. "Even after she gained fame, [she] has been known to run over to him voluntarily whenever [he] calls and she goes along with [his] well known perverse tastes.”

Multiple online users have suggested the singer being referenced is EXID's Hani. In late 2014, the girl group rose to popularity months after releasing their single "Up & Down" thanks to a fan video of Hani performing live that went viral.

“We saw the rumor and noticed that Hani’s name was appearing, but we didn’t initially pay much attention to it because the claims were ludicrous and it wasn’t true," explained a rep for Yedang Entertainment to Star News on February 17. "However, more people were exposed to the rumors than we initially thought."

"We would like to state once more that Hani has no relation to the rumors and if anyone spreads this rumor further we will take aggressive action against them," the company's rep stated.

"Hani as well as all the other members of EXID are working hard on a new song so fans don’t have to worry too much about the rumors.”

As for the actor at the center of the rumor? Many online users have their fingers pointed at GI Joe: Retaliation star Lee Byung Hun. Unlike Hani, Lee is no stranger to scandal. The 44-year-old actor recently appeared in court to testify against former GLAM member Dahee and model Lee Ji Yeon after the two attempted to blackmail him with a video recorded in secret at the actor's home.

Management for Lee Byung Hun has yet to respond to the rumors.
