GOT7, Davichi And INFINITE F Albums Reportedly Found Among MBC Studio Trash

Are your favorite idol’s albums being thrown in the trash? Korean fans think so.

A Korean who works near the headquarters of MBC, one of Korea’s largest television stations, walked by the building and saw many CDs being thrown out. After taking a picture and taking some albums, the person shared what he or she saw on Korean portal site Pann, resulting in anger from commenters, directed at industry representatives who throw out albums that singers have worked on.

The Pann post was translated by Netizenbuzz“I work near the Sangam MBC and on my way home I found a whole pile of albums just thrown away," the online user posted. "I'm a fan of a certain girl group so I digged through them just in case but the majority of the CDs were actually from well-known artists."

"The competition must be so fierce to get your name out there right now," the fan continued. "I grabbed a few of the CDs from artists I knew and they weren't empty cases in case you were wondering, they all had CDs in them.”

The person also shared pictures of the albums. There were albums by Davichi, INFINITE F, GOT7, Hwayobi, Im Chang Jung, The Boss, and more. Some albums were visibly signed.

Idols who release new music or debut often give sample albums to media representatives and older singers, often personalizing the messages. In 2011, CNBLUE allegedly threw out CDs of a rookie girl group.

Korean commenters, often known as netizens, voiced irritation over the fact that albums that singers, both famous and new, worked hard on ended up in the trash by industry representatives who probably didn’t even listen to them. Other netizens expressed anger about the fact that albums were costly and being thrown away.
