Denials were heard from Kim Hyun Joong shortly after reports that the singer planned to marry his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

KeyEast, Kim's entertainment agency, held a press conference on February 23, reported the K-Pop Herald. The agency spoke for Kim and announced that if his ex-girlfriend Ms. Choi is pregnant, then the singer will be "fully accountable." The company did mention, however, that until the pregnancy is confirmed, the singer will not take any action.

"[In early January] Choi told Kim Hyun Joong that she was pregnant," the singer's rep revealed at the press conference. "Kim Hyun Joong and his parents called Choi and her parents on multiple occasions to meet and confirm that she was pregnant. Choi, however, refused to go see a doctor and has since not been in contact.”

Kim's representatives also denied reports that the two are planning to get married.

“After yesterday’s [news] release, Kim Hyun Joong’s side once again requested confirmation of her pregnancy, they still have not received a response. The report that ‘the parents of the two have met and talks of marriage is on going’ is not true."

The Key East rep also maintained that nothing has yet been confirmed. “Please refrain from making conjectures and reports based on partial truths," he added.

Choi brought a domestic violence lawsuit against Kim in 2014. After initial denials, Kim apologized formally and publicly to Choi, resulting in her dropping the charges; Kim had to pay a court-ordered fine of around $4,600 USD.

The two kept in contact following the trial, confirmed KeyEast.

"Kim Hyun Joong and Ms. Choi came to terms last September on the issue of the assault. They did meet again after but at the end of last year agreed to go on their own way," stated the rep.

On Feb. 22, Korean magazine Woman Sense reported that Choi was in her second trimester, and that Kim and Choi were planning a future together.

Korean media outlet Dispatch released an alleged timeline of Kim's relationship with Choi, and reported that the two had spent December's holiday season together on Korea's Jeju Island.

However, the Key East representatives stated Kim has had difficulty reaching Choi and her current whereabouts are unknown.

KeyEast also reported that "Kim Hyun Joong has stated that as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed, he will do his duty and take responsibility." 

Kim Hyun Joong released his latest Japanese album, "Still," in January.
