Rumors Of Tao Leaving EXO Trending On Social Media Shortly After Luhan And Kris's Mediation Postponement

As SM Entertainment continues its legal battle with EXO's Luhan and Kris Wu, rumors of another Chinese members leaving the K-pop group has gone viral due to the Chinese social networking platform Weibo.

On Tuesday, a Weibo page ignited the rumors by posting that EXO member Huang Zitao (Tao) will be nullifying his contract with SM to sign with Chinese agency Huayi Brothers. The rumor alleges that Tao's co-star Huang Xiaoming in the upcoming Chinese film "My Sunshine" introduced the K-pop star to the agency.

Since the allegations became widespread online, Huang took to Weibo to deny the rumors.

"False news could also be sold as widely spread news," wrote Huang according to translations on allkpop. "Looks like some organization is having plans. We should just quietly film a good movie."

Last month, Kris and Luhan's mediation with SM Entertainment, originally scheduled for Friday, was postponed to March 27.

"The mediation set for Feb. 27 at the Korean court is still left, and in a situation where the representatives of both sides are already set to meet in China, the fact that SM filed a lawsuit makes their sincerity to the negotiations questionable," read the statement prior to the postponement.

Although unconfirmed, some believe SM Entertainment's recent lawsuits against Luhan and Kris could have influenced the postponement.

Shortly before the scheduled mediation, SM Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Kris and Luhan for allegedly violating their contracts by conducting promotions and pursuing projects in China. After filing the lawsuit in Shanghai, SM Entertainment also filed a similar lawsuit against Luhan through Hong Kong on Feb. 10.

Huayi Brothers was also rumored to sign Kris, but was never confirmed due to the ongoing legal battle with SM Entertainment.
