JYP Entertainment To Debut New Male Idol Group Called 5Live

Five new male idols will join the JYP Entertainment family in 2015.

JYP Entertainment released a teaser video on its JYP Audition channel on March 10 that implies the company will debut a new male idol group in 2015. The video teasers a five-member group, suspected to be 5Live, a pre-debut group that JYP Entertainment showcased in 2013.

The teaser video, entitled "JYP Audition Teaser" introduces JYP Entertainment's male idol groups, beginning with 2AM, then 2PM, and ending with the company's most recently debuted male idol group, GOT7.

The video ends by reading, "and the next" followed by the silhouette of five men. The teaser ends with the date April 26, 2015, likely the group's debut date.

In 2013, JYP Entertainment introduced a five member male idol group known as 5Live. 5Live appeared on the YG Entertainment-based competition show, WIN: Who Is Next, and also sang the song "Lovely Girl" for the 2013 drama, Pretty Man. At the time, 5Live was promoted as a K-pop group with a band concept, similar to FTISLAND and CNBLUE.

Despite the teaser video implying that the upcoming JYP group will by 5Live, there is no mention of the name of the soon-to-debut group.

It is unknown whether the five members originally revealed in 2013- Wonpil, Junhyuk, Sungjin, Jaehyung, and Younghyun- are all included in the final lineup.

In 2014, JYP Entertainment announced three upcoming, numeral-based idol groups.  The company is expected to debut a girl group known as 6MIX to join the numeric lineup in 2014. 6MIX will appear on a television show before debuting.

GOT7 was the latest group to debut under JYP Entertainment. The group debuted with "Girls Girls Girls" in January 2014.

JYP Entertainment's upcoming five-member male group is expected to debut on April 26.
