Shinhwa's 'Sniper' Shoots Past 1 Million Views On YouTube

Shinhwa's "Sniper" music video has reached more than 1 million views on YouTube in two weeks since it was released. The legendary idol group still drew in the eyeballs with their cool beats and charismatic MV, and seems to be gaining new fans with their latest comeback.

"Wow, this is my first time listening to them and they're good! They're so talented and their voices are amazing. A new fan here," says Paolo Nicole, a YouTube user.

"I didn't know Shinhwa was that good," says another commenter, SugaKookieMonster 430.

The 1 million views are impressive given that Shinhwa is the longest-running boy band in K-Pop. "Sniper" is the album title track for their 12th mini-album We, and the song shot up to #1 on real-time charts when it was released on February 26.

While top acts in big three agencies routinely reach 1 million views, sometimes as fast as a few days, the same cannot be said of others, which makes Shinhwa's milestone more impressive. The MV for VIXX's "Love Equation" - which has been dominating the music shows with multiple #1 wins on Music Core, Music Bank and M! Countdown - has only managed to reach 560,000 views despite an earlier YouTube drop date on February 23.

What's next for the enduringly popular boy band? Shinhwa has revealed that they would be up for a collaboration with Girls' Generation, possibly even a trot song. The two groups both started in SM Entertainment before Shinhwa transferred to Good Entertainment more than a decade ago.
