Girls' Generation Announce New Japanese And Korean Releases

The wait is over - Girls' Generation has been confirmed for a comeback this May with a brand-new Korean album, reports Koreaboo. Notably, this will be the first album the group will be releasing since member Jessica departed from the group last year to pursue her solo interests.

Leading up to the May album release, the girls will first make a splash in Japan where they will drop their 9th Japanese single titled "Catch Me If You Can" in April.

Girls' Generation is also scheduled to perform in Malaysia for the F1 post-race concert on March 29 together with SHINee.

The girls should prove themselves strong contenders for dominating the music charts in April, barring any comeback delays, and will compete with other groups that are also returning with fresh music during that month. The girls will battle it out with the likes of MBLAQ, which will be returning as a trio either in late April or early May after members Thunder and Lee Joon similarly left to focus on solo activities.

There had been recent signs that the girls were indeed planning for their big return to the K-Pop music scene. Just a few days ago, SM Entertainment hosted a Welcome Dinner for all the girls in a fancy restaurant.

With the comeback confirmed, the question now is what kind of sound and concept will the girls choose - would you like a sassy urban dance concept like in "I Got A Boy", a cute concept like in "Gee" or maybe a totally new one they haven't used before?
