Adam Lambert Credits Tour With Queen For Teaching Him To Be Thankful; 'American Idol' Alum's New Single Out Next Month

Adam Lambert credited Queen for allowing him to stay grounded in his career as his recent tour with them allowed the "American Idol" alum first-row seat on how the legendary band managed to stay relevant for so long.

"I think what I learned from their example of not taking it too seriously - being thankful for the opportunity to get to create and entertain people," he said per Unreality TV.

"That trumps any sort of ego or money or anything like that. They really take joy in the fact that they get to still be on stage," the "American Idol" alum added.

Meanwhile, Adam Lambert talked about his latest single that would be out next month, a cut from his soon-to-be-released album, which took a year to complete.

Talking to Hunger TV, per Billboard, the "American Idol" alum said that soundwise, the new single would be more contemporary.

"It's definitely pop but not bubblegum. We have avoided camp and theatrics and have favored a darker, more grounded vibe, and at the same time, it will make you dance!" he said.

Adam Lambert added, "Lyrically, it's very very personal, the album has an overall bittersweet feel to it. Vocally, I think it's my most tasteful, sophisticated work to date."

"With Max's guidance, I approached a lot of it with more restraint than in the past. Instead of being overly specific, most of the songs are more esoteric and so they're open to interpretation."

"I'm curious to hear about the individual meaning that people find in the songs dependent on their own situation," the "American Idol" alumni added.

Queen + Adam Lambert had just concluded its European Tour, and the singer was snapped earlier this month arriving at the LAX as he starts working again on his new album titled, "The Original High," which is a follow-up to his debut album in 2012 called, "Tresspassing."
