CL Tops 2015 TIME 100 Poll Voting Ahead Of Global Icons Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Emma Watson, Pope Francis, And More

Lady Gaga, Queen Bey, step aside.

At least, that's what K-pop fans are telling TIME. The magazine opened up its voting period for the annual TIME 100 list on March 24, and fans of 2NE1's CL quickly voted the Korean singer ahead of global entertainment, political, and social icons.

Within 48 hours of the poll opening, CL had more than double the votes than any other artist. On March 26, she had 10% of the votes, while the closest runner up, Lady Gaga, had only 4%.

The top five was rounded out by Emma Watson (2.6%,) Beyoncé (2.5%,) while Malala Yousafzai and Pope Francis tied for fifth place (1.8%.)

CL was described by TIME as, "one fourth of the wildly popular South Korean girl group 2NE1, Lee Chalin (a.k.a CL) is teaming up with manager Scooter Braun (the mastermind behind Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen) for her upcoming American debut."

Korean icons Psy (2013) and Rain (2006, 2011) previously appeared on TIME 100 reader polls.

The only other Korean to appear on the 2015 TIME 100 reader poll is North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un.

YG Entertainment's official YG Family website page erroneously wrote that CL is "the only Korean among 158 candidates this year."

Even though CL may end up in the top 100 of the reader poll, the K-pop icon may not even appear on the official TIME 100 list.

"While TIME's editors will choose the TIME 100 - our annual list of the most influential people in the world - we want readers to have a say too. Cast your vote here for the people who you think have changed the world this past year, for better or worse."

Voting for the TIME 100 reader poll will end on April 10, and the winner will be announced on April 13.
