In the past year the world took notice of singer Psy. Over a billion people hummed to "Gangnam Style." Although everyone said, "it was unexpected success," there was YG Entertainment head Yang Hyun Suk who has constantly knocked on the door of world music market. Yang Hyun Suk shared, "Since the establishment of YG in 1997 till now our goal was never was just the domestic market. Psy's success? It's just the door finally opened that no one ever answered with our knock."

Psy's "Gangnam Style" phenomenon crossed over to the world. According to Billboard it's expected that the Psy and YG Entertainment has earned a minimum of 15 billion won. There is more to his success than just simply the income. The awareness of K-Pop all around the world including U.S. and Europe is simply astounding. "Even if it's the same contents when it's accepted in the global market the effect is even greater. This is how large the power of the global market became."

There have been numerous analyses behind Psy's success. Yang Hyun Suk was asked of his opinion. "First it's the sophisticated style of music that is accepted everyone not only in U.S, Europe and Asia. There is no reason why we cannot create sophisticated music." Then what's next? "It's character, the character that drives the crowd wild with their performance."
