Psy's Birthday Celebrated by Millions at Times Square

Global sensation Psy celebrated his birthday with the masses on New Year's Eve at Times Square.

Psy appeared as one of the featured act of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" on Monday.

"Being in Times Square in New Year's Eve is already special - it's the biggest stage in the universe - plus it's my birthday, so, with all that, it may be the ending of 'Gangnam Style,'" Psy admitted.

"I mean, what better way to do it? It's my biggest and most meaningful birthday."

The ABC special brought in the largest audience since 2000 with 13.3 million viewers and a 4.1 in the key 18-49 demographic.

The performance this day featured comedians Yoo Jae Suk and No Hong Chul as special guests for the first part of the performance soon after MC Hammer joined to perform a mash-up of "Gangnam Style" and his own song "2 Legit 2 Quit."

The day of the performance not only was New Year's Eve but Psy's 35th birthday and the crowd was seen shouting "Happy Birthday, PSY!"

Although Psy didn't mention this to be his last "Gangnam Style" performance, it's likely the last public performance from the singer. As he is shared the song became "too popular" and it's now time to focus on his next new single.
